High Holidays 2026/5787
Celebrate High Holidays 2026/5787 with Hillel at Stanford.
Advance registration is strongly requested for participation.
We can't wait to celebrate the High Holidays with you. Hillel at Stanford is honored to pray in community with Stanford students, staff, faculty, and alumni, bringing together people from many Jewish backgrounds and traditions. This year, we're expanding our service offerings so more members of our community can find a prayer experience that feels like home.
This year, our High Holiday services will be led by Rabbi Ilana Goldhaber-Gordon and Rabbi Jessica Kirschner, who together will guide our community through a meaningful and inspiring season of prayer, reflection, and celebration.
Rosh Hashanah begins the evening of Friday, September 11, and continues through Saturday, September 12. Yom Kippur begins the evening of Sunday, September 20, and continues through Monday, September 21.
Our main service at Bing Concert Hall will continue as in past years, with spirited, uplifting prayer and joyous music led by our band and singers.
To meet the diverse needs of our community, we are restructuring the morning services at Bing, as well as adding alternative options for Yom Kippur, as follows:
Conservative Shacharit: The first hour of services at Bing will be fully Conservative. Savannah Lipner will lead the prayers, almost entirely in Hebrew. The musicians and many members of our community will arrive at Bing at 10:30 am to begin the Torah Service together.
Yom Kippur at Hillel (Traditional Egalitarian): On Yom Kippur, we will offer a traditional egalitarian service with mechitza seating—three sections: men's, women's, and mixed.
Orthodox Services: Orthodox services will again be offered by Stanford Minyan and Chabad at the Old Student Services Building.
We look forward to praying with you and welcoming you for a meaningful High Holidays season.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, High Holiday services are offered free of charge to all students. Community members are warmly welcome to join us by purchasing tickets, with all ticket proceeds serving as a donation to Hillel at Stanford to support Jewish student life and programming throughout the year.
