Passover on Campus 2023

Passover is a special time on campus.  All our events are free and open to students. Thank you for RSVPing below so we can have enough food.

RSVP for Seders and more on campus
 

Monday, April 3rd, 6 - 7:30 PM: Passover Seder 101.

 

Learn the elements of the Passover seder with Rabbi Laurie Hahn Tapper. This discussion will be particularly helpful if you plan to lead your own seder or want greater understanding of the seder's many texts and traditions.
 

First Night Seder: Wednesday April 5, 7-9:30pm

Celebrate our freedom with a large communal first night seder at Hillel, with delicious kosher dinner, amplified live music, lively table discussions, and lots of Passover traditions.

First Night Halachic Orthodox Seder

Wednesday, April 5th: Traditional halachic seder. Time will be determined by seder leaders and will take place on or near campus.

Second night Seder After Dark: Thursday April 6, 8 - 10:30 pm

Delve deeper into Passover traditions, songs, and questions with this second night Seder.

Monday, April 10th, 7 PM: First Annual Matzah Brei Showdown & Prince of Egypt Watch Party

 

Enjoy the 1998 Dreamworks Passover classic with sweet and/or savory varietals of our favorite Passover breakfast delicacy. Cast your vote for the winning Brei and sing along.

Eating Kosher for Passover at Hillel

All Week

Hillel will also have snacks and breakfast foods that are available for grab and go every day during the holiday. Please do not bring any outside food that is not kosher for Passover into either building.

Shabbat Friday April 7 and Saturday April 8

Join for shabbat services at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm on Friday night and join the Stanford Orthodox Minyan for morning services at 10 am and a festive kiddush lunch at 12:30 pm.

Every Lunch and Dinner (not including Seders)

Stanford dining will be cooking and serving strictly Kosher for Passover meals out of the Koret Pavilion for lunch and dinner. Lunch will be served from 11am - 1:30pm and Dinner from 5pm - 7pm. Graduate students are able to purchase Meal Plan Blocks for a discounted per meal price (learn more here).  No students will be turned away for lack of funds. Undergrads on the meal plan will be able to use their swipes at Hillel.
