Family Events

We can’t wait to get to know your family!

New Student Orientation & Move-in Open House

Our annual NSO event is intended for families and new students to meet the Hillel at Stanford community.  You may see us in Hillel’s golf cart bringing water and snacks to dorms during move-in.  Once you’re unpacked, come to Hillel for more food, a break from the heat, and a chance to meet other families, upperclassmen, and new friends.  Shabbat dinner on the Friday night of NSO is a phenomenal place for students to start building the community that will sustain them through their time on The Farm.

Family Weekend

Hillel at Stanford welcomes all students and families who will be visiting campus as part of Stanford Family Weekend.  Join our vibrant community on Friday afternoon at our Open House to nosh, tour our buildings, and meet our staff team and student leaders.  You are welcome at Shabbat on Friday (Reform, Conservative, Orthodox services at 6 pm, community dinner at 7 pm) and Saturday (Stanford Minyan/Orthodox service starts at 9:30, community kiddush lunch open to all at 12:30)

New Admit Weekend

Picking your university is a huge decision, and many students and their families come to check out Jewish life on campus while deciding if Stanford is right for them.  We are here for you during this process! We can connect you with students studying what you are interested in, or who come from a Jewish background like yours, or who are doing the things you are excited about in college.  Feel free to reach out to us anytime in the college search process. If you are on campus during New Admit Weekend, join us for our Open House. There will be food (you sense a theme?) and the opportunity for conversations between Hillel staff, current students, and peers (prospective students or parents) so everyone has a chance to get THEIR questions answered.
